Hump Day Already?

I was off on Monday, resting up after the Marathon Half-Marathon so today feels like Tuesday which is a beautiful thing because Friday will feel like it's coming that much faster.

I have lots of random stuff to go over so I'll try to keep it organized! :)

First of all:
I want to thank you all for your comments and positive vibes :) They are greatly appreciated.
Second:

I'd like to answer a question on how I got the fun clock pic of my time:
It's available Here

Click on your race, Search for your name and then click on it and Viola! :) From there I took a screen shot of it and saved.

I also used this to correct the time on my finish picture with the help of Photoshop ;)
Third:
Yesterday, I went on a Race Planning spree. I want to do one race every month this year and so far I'm doing fine.
  • Already did my January Race
  • Signed up for February 26th, Calle Ocho 8k
  • I had already signed up for March 7th, 13.1 Miami Beach
  • Applied for the April 27th 7 Mile Bridge Race, it's a Lotto race so I penciled in the April 15th 1040K race (just in case :\
  • Penciled in the May 22nd Tour of the Gables
  • Penciled in the June 6th Twilight 5k
  • Penciled in the July 4th 5k

Forth:
I complied my stats for January. They look something like this:
Miles Run: 69.66 miles
Times Run: 11 times
Average Pace: 4.68 mph
Time Run: 15:07:44
Cross Trained: 0 times - egad!
Biked: 0 times

Fifth:
I read listened to 3 Books this month

All three were excellent!

and Finally:
Yesterday's rain caused me to bring my run inside, first time in what feels like at least a year (but probably not that long) that I've run on a treadmill.

I was pleasantly surprised.

I plugged in my Ipod, started up Spirit of the Marathon and got going.

I probably could have squeezed out one more rest day but I was raring to go and couldn't wait to get started.

I kept it easy, at my 12:47 recovery run pace. I bobbed up and down during the first half mile of the run so much (trying to figure out the new tready) that I pretty much had to keep it 11:32 and 12:00 for the last three miles to break even at 12:41.

I loved the fact that I had more control over how fast I was going and how I could keep it even. Yes, I'm OCD like that! When I run outside I can usually keep the first mile on pace but every subsequent mile slows down considerably and I H.A.T.E. THAT!

Final stats:
Distance: 4.10
Time: 52:00:00
Pace: 12:41

On Deck for tonight is a 5 Mile Run with 3 of those miles at 11:08 pace. I'm not good at these types of runs but I'm just going to push on through.

Have a great Hump day!

Getting Back in the Swing

So, yesterday's run didn't totally suck.

It went something like:
Mile one: My legs were cramping and knotting to no end
Mile two: I felt like I couldn't breathe
Mile three: Slow but Steady
Mile four: I like to run!
Mile five: I missed running, why did I ever stop!
So, I am getting back into the swing of it.

and here are last months stats:

Some stats to start the Week and the Month by

Well, since using the Runner's World: SMART COACH I've noticed some improvement. I've been in a great mood about running over the last week and I think it has something to do with it.

I also hit a PDR this weekend on my long run of 11.05 (previous PDR was 9.5 miler that didn't go so well). This PDR was hit and I felt like I could've kept on running WOO-HOO!

Today I have a Easy 5 miler to tend too...

and here are some stats to start the Week and the Month by:

The Tempo Run That Wasn't

If you hadn't noticed, I had been a little bit underwhelmed with my running the last 2 weeks or so.

I had started to REALLY SLOW DOWN. I felt like I had been showing promise, improving and getting better but then WHAM! SLOWY-MAC-SLOW-POKE showed up!

I was feeling quite demoralized and it took me almost two hours of Hmmm-ing and Haw-ing and Mr. Boyfriend pushing me out the door with his BOOT to get me out there! (I owe him one!)

Yes, I know I shouldn't let a little slow down demoralize me! Yes, I know that if I push through it I will get over and beyond it! But JEESH, it wreaks havoc on your motivation!

What's worse is I am running IPOD free ... IT AIN'T EASY I TELL YOU! Music helps SO VERY MUCH! But, the 13.1 Fort Lauderdale doesn't allow MP3 players and my ear phones crapped out on me conveniently so I took it as a sign to train with race like conditions.

But then, as I thought there was no hope, I finally saw a bit of light.

Sure, I don't run very fast but this is faster than I've run in a couple of weeks.
Mile 1: 9:42
Mile 2: 11:21
Mile 3: 11:05
Mile 4: 10:58
Extra .06: 0:41
I hadn't run a sub-10 in a couple of weeks. A fully on-marathon pace run! It felt G.R.E.A.T!

I know that's not how a Tempo Run is 'posed to go ... but I'm happy with it!
In Review - Month of September:
WORKOUT DISTANCE AVG Speed TIMES
77.45 Miles5.17 .1218
0 MilesN/A0
0 MetersN/A0

Total Workout Time: 27:09:20
Total Running Time: 15:09:20
I didn't quite achieved my September 80+ Miles Challenge :\ but I know that was because I lost a couple of training days due to a mondo-migraine so I'm not too disappointed. I am disappointed that I didn't Bike or Swim at all in September but there's always next month. I am glad that although I sucked-wind for two weeks my monthly average is still up. Yay!

My Goal for October is 100+ miles so that I can reach my goal of 900 in 2009. I may seem like a big jump especially since I didn't make my 80+ in September but my marathon training is getting more heated so I do expect that it will get done. I am also setting goals for 120+ in November and 140+ in December which will complete my goal.

Well, today is equal to my Friday! I'm going to METALLICA and then I have tomorrow off.

I had a 5 miler penciled in before I realized I won't have time to do it before the concert :\ but I do have tomorrow open to work it in.

WISHING EVERYONE A TERRIFIC DAY!

August in Review

Can you believe we are already at the end of August?

The weeks and months are moving fast.

I am pleased to report I have accomplished some running improvement over the last month and especially over the last two weeks where I seem to have hit it into OVERDRIVE. I have even been able to check off one of my time goals: Pass the Army PFT Run (Run 2 miles in under 20:30 or avg 5.85 MPH). My next time goal is a sub-30 min 5k (avg 6.2 MPH).
I've been challenged (on the Daily Mile) to run 80 miles in the month of September and I have accepted the challenge :)

On deck for this evening:
Make up of yesterday's 6 Mile run.

I've really got to work on my weekend work outs. I haven't figured out how to get them in there. I feel so lazy on weekends and it always gets the week started on the wrong foot with me suffering from the I-was-lazy-blues! Also, I haven't been doing my strength training and I'm feeling it. Need to get back on the strength wagon ;}

Hope everyone is having a happy Monday!
